The Chris Duhon Stand Tall Foundation Scholarship is administered by an established committee selected by Chris Duhon and the Stand Tall Foundation. The committee will review the applications to determine the recipient(s) based on outstanding academics, leadership skills and their commitment to the community. The committee will consider the grade point average, community involvement, personal character and ambitious purpose of each applicant.
Chris Duhon and the Stand Tall Foundation seek to develop and encourage a history of service in one's community. It is our wish to encourage students to explore community service as an opportunity that will strengthen his/her determination to become accountable leaders and remind him/her that what he/she gains from their philanthropic work will extend far beyond the classroom.
Application
A completed scholarship application shall include: (Download Application)
- A formal application form
- Answers to questions 1-5 which includes a typed essay, two pages or less.
- A copy of the student's seven (7) semester high school transcript
- Three (3) Letters of Recommendation

The deadline for receipt of the application is March 31, 2012. Incomplete applications or applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
Award Amount
The $5,000 Scholarship will be funded in four (4) equal payments of $1,250 dispersed every Fall Semester of the college/university of the student's choice. The Scholarship Award shall be deposited at the college/university for the student to use for tuition, books and fees associated with full-time enrollment.
Eligibility
Any student scheduled for May 2012 graduation from a St. Tammany Parish public school is eligible to apply. He/she must have completed a minimum of their junior and senior year in St. Tammany Parish Schools, have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average and demonstrate an outstanding commitment to their community or school.
